Kanako Murakami is the Silver medal winner at the 2013 Japanese national figure skating championships.  Kanako Murakami started her season with a bronze at the 2012 Skate Canada and finished 4th at her next event, the 2012 Cup of Russia.

She is the 2010–2011 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, 2010 World Junior Champion, 2009/2010 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, and a 3-time Japanese national medalist (Bronze – 2011, 2012; Silver – 2013), the 2010 Japanese junior national champion, and the 2009 Japanese junior bronze medalist
